Animal rescue is a topic near and dear to my heart. I have been an animal rescuer for many years, both as a part of formal rescue groups and on my own. Each story in my new Paws and Effect series will involve animal rescue in some form. The Purrfect Partner, the first book in the series, releases on Wednesday, 11 Feb 15, just in time for Valentine’s! Today, I am thrilled to reveal the cover.

Isn’t it adorable?! This cover was created by Melody Simmons at Ebook Indie Covers, the same designer that created the beautiful cover for my debut novel, Assassin’s Heart. Once again, this is one of Melody’s pre-made covers; once again, she created the perfect cover for one of my stories. The only change from the original cover is the addition of the cat.

As a member of Read and Rescue, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to help animals in need.

Blurb:

Lorelei Stevens, newly certified veterinary technician, faces the future with a mix of excitement and dread. Freedom from the meddling of her well-intentioned friends is finally within reach. All she has to do is spend Valentine’s weekend dodging the unwanted attentions of strangers during the annual singles gathering at The Lodge. In return, her friends promise to never, ever set her up on another blind date.

Dalton Freeman, laid-back rancher, receives a getaway to The Lodge as a gift from his brothers. The catch? The gift is only good during Valentine’s weekend. So what if all of his attempts at online dating have failed miserably? There’s no reason for his brothers to play Cupid. Really.

When these two strangers pretend to be a couple for a weekend, will it be a disaster or will fate – and a half-frozen kitten – lead them to the purrfect partner?

Awesome cover. Fits right in with a Valentine’s Day release.

    :)

I never seem to find any covers that fit stories I actually have in mind. I see lots of pre-mades I like but none of them match my stories. Maybe I’m too picky.

Thanks, Beth! I seem to have the opposite problem. I find covers that are *perfect* for stories I have in mind, but haven’t written yet. In fact, I’ve purchased several. No matter how hard I try to talk myself out of it, I can’t bear to let someone else have “my” cover. I use them as the wallpaper on my laptop to keep me inspired.

Definitely a great cover! I love the cat. He/she looks so soft and cuddly. And of course, is also wearing that look cats wear so well. The look that says, “Hey folks, it’s all about me.” :)

Thanks, Carrie! Lol. Yes, indeed. My cats always let me know when I fail to show them the attention they feel they deserve.
